Frequently Asked Questions

Postpartum support is gentle, emotional support for mothers after birth. It offers a calm space to talk, reflect, and feel heard during a period that can feel emotionally tender or quietly overwhelming.

Bloom & Luma focuses on listening, reassurance, and compassionate guidance — not fixing, diagnosing, or directing.

No. Bloom & Luma does not provide therapy, counselling, or medical advice.

Sessions are supportive conversations designed to help you feel grounded, understood, and more confident navigating the early months of motherhood. If clinical or medical support is needed, appropriate professional care will be gently encouraged.

Bloom & Luma is for mothers in the postpartum period who would like a calm, supportive space to talk.

There is no requirement to be struggling or to have a specific concern. Many mothers reach out simply because they would value reassurance, perspective, or support during a time of transition.

Sessions are one-to-one and take place via phone or video call.

You’ll join from your own space, at a time that works for you. Sessions are baby-led — feeding, holding, pausing, or moving as needed is always welcome. There is no expectation to be uninterrupted or to present yourself in any particular way.

Anything that feels relevant or present for you.

This may include:

  • Emotional wellbeing or feeling overwhelmed
  • Adjusting to life with a new baby
  • Baby routines, day-to-day rhythm, or sleep
  • Feeding experiences (breast, bottle, combination, or weaning)
  • Identity changes after birth
  • Relationship or family shifts
  • Reflections on birth
  • Feelings of uncertainty, doubt, or loneliness

There is no right or wrong focus, and no expectation to arrive with a set topic.

No preparation is needed.

A session does not require a clearly defined reason or agenda. Conversations unfold gently, following what feels most helpful in the moment.

Each support call lasts 60 minutes.

This allows time to settle into the conversation without feeling rushed. Extended sessions are also available for those who would prefer a longer, unhurried space.

Yes. Everything shared during your session is treated as confidential.

Your privacy and emotional wellbeing will be treated with care and respect at all times, within appropriate professional and safeguarding boundaries.

Emotional responses are entirely welcome.

Pauses, silence, or emotion are a natural part of reflective conversation. There is no need to apologise or manage how you respond during a session.

Yes. Some mothers choose a single session, while others find ongoing support helpful over time.

There is no expectation to continue — you are free to decide what feels right for you.

That uncertainty is very common.

Many mothers reach out without a clear reason, simply because they sense they would benefit from space to talk or feel more supported during this period of change.
